He joined the service in 1959 and jumped out early... In 1962. Sitting down after that trip he made a conscious decision to try and do something.

    1966... At 25 Roger chose a life challenge to create paintings and drawings with tools and materials that have been used for centuries.  

The question was/is how does one... Take color, oil, water, plastic, brushes made from hair... Charcoal, paper words, canvas, whatever...

Put it all together, so the work comes from within... So the viewer goes ahhh, and can rest for some time in the work ?

     1968... Sailing with all his possessions, in a 500 dollar, 25 ft, double ended, sloop, down the New England coast... He Anchored in Provincetown Harbor... At ( literally ) lands end... ( Massachusetts, USA, Earth )

And began his painting & life studies with D. Risho, a meticulous drawing master, R. Risk, a Zen abstract painter, and H. Hensche, an impressionistic colorist. 

After selling his boat... A winter fellowship providing a studio, supplies and food was received in 1969 from the on-going... Great program... Called the...

Fine Arts Work Center - Located in Provincetown Massachusetts, U.S.A. Earth

     1970... Was a time of discovery and travel to many places. He was part of social and environmental protests and helped create music, paintings and mixed art happenings in many places.

     1980... Living in the Vermont, USA, Earth, woods... Roger began building a global Non-Profit 501C social and environmental project called Community Connections... With the web address of www.community.org... Lost. It's now called www . One Global Community . com

The idea grew, with the help of many people, over many years...

Create a global network of community centers...

In every neighborhood, village, town, tribe, city...

 All connected together... All around planet Earth.

Thus... Connecting people within local and regional communities creating One Global Community.

So that... The necessities of life,

Food, Medical care, Information, Ideas, Love, Education, Material Goods, etc... Can then be shared between people everywhere... In many ways.

     1992... Roger was a participant and introduced this www.OneGlobalCommunity.com one world, one people, global Earth Citizen, community project at the...

Earth Summit... In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, South America, Earth

     1996... He built an inexpensive, functional, live-aboard studio/boat to be as close to nature as possible.

This allowed time to paint and study every day, floating, motor/sailing the I.C.W. between North Carolina and Key West.

     2000... In the spring of 1999 he stepped ashore just north of Wilmington, N.C. USA Earth and took up residents in the Little Studio.

He teaches his accumulated knowledge to children, serious students, artists and spends time with family and friends and is becoming more and more the hermit of his older age.

     Roger is still broke... Has been painting for forty plus years and has completed more than 750 works of art... Of different kinds.

He has exhibited in mural competitions, one man and group shows in galleries, universities and cafes... Self Published Books and Earth Citizen Newspapers, built houses, boats, bla bla bla etc.  

2005... Anyway... Roger is now... Still on earth...

A Citizen of Earth, Social & Environmental Activist...
